A 3,000sf 1920’s house originally design by architect John Byer, located on a half-acre in Brentwood, is transformed for a graphic designer and her family.

Working off the “good bones” of the house, the initial Phase 1 work was designed within the existing structural footprint while also accommodating a future Phase 2 addition.

All parts of the renovation were custom designed, but in particular new windows and doors flood spaces with natural light while reinforcing a completely upgraded modern plan oriented to take advantage of the prevailing view of Kenter Canyon. The new family great room on the lower floor seamlessly integrates with the landscape to allow for a natural indoor-outdoor relationship.
